*A Little Dreaming Will Do You Good…

sunsetSometimes we take life way too seriously and we forget that taking care of body and mind is just as important as our job. I know that I did a lot of daydreaming when I was younger and then the kids/ career came along and there was little time left for me. Actually, if I had been smarter, I would have made time back then! I hope that you 30 year olds out there are listening! You probably deserve “me” time more than any other age group!

Well, those of us who have raised our kids into amazing adults, have the time now and we are going to put it to good use.

Find yourself an inexpensive photo album and start tucking away pamphlets of places you would like to visit. And don’t forget some of those places that are in your own back door. We often ignore them while tourists flock to those very spots.

If you could pick a spot to head off to next week, where would it be?

If money were noobject, I’d fly to Hawaii, but since it is, I’ll pick somewhere in the Caribbean where it would be warm enough to swim (not Bermuda)!

I’m looking out of my kitchen window this morning at the snow-covered Pecos Mountains and daydreaming about the Spring thaw and heading up the trail into the Rocky Mountain foothills on our horses. I’m longing for the deep blue mountain lakes and the lush green meadows that literally carpeting the earth at 8,000+ feet. We can trailer our horses up there in an hour from our small ranch, and all of a sudden we’re transported from the high desert to Alpine meadows, rushing streams, majestic pines and quivering aspen trees.

I’ve got a fire roaring in the wood burninig stove this morning, cup of hot coffee in hand, Blue Heeler dog sitting at my feet, but part of me is up there in those mountains.

I’m with you! A little dreaming does us good.

I held on to an Abercrombie and Kent brochure for a barge trip through the French wine country, where you biked all day and were picked up by a luxurious barge, for years. I think I only threw it out a few months ago because I knew I’d never be able to afford it.

That’s my dream trip. I also want to go to the Kingdom of Bhutan someday, and take the hike across Ireland where you dip your boot into the water on one shore, and dip your boot into the water when you reach the other side. Too cool.

    Here by way of michele!
