Are you too hesitant??

Sometimes as we get older, we settle back and try to avoid anything new. I don’t know what we are afraid of, but that has to be what it comes down to… fear. If we could simply figure out what we are afraid of, we might be able to get over it. For me, it has to be driving. I don’t know when it happened, but for the last few years, I have developed this fear of driving and will avoid it when at all possible. I really need to over come this phobia, but I don’t want to?? Yes, I hate it that much.
So, don’t leave me sitting here being the only one who is afraid of something. I’m opening myself up here. Now it’s your turn. What scares you?
The Confident Woman: Start Today Living Boldly and Without Fear

I hate the idea of being fearful of something just because I have gotten a little older. But I guess I am a little fearful of falling on the ice. Sounds kinda dumb, as I am only in my late forties, but there you have it. And here in Boston, winter is around the corner….
Hi Rhea,
Falling on ice… I can understand that. I tripped and cracked my cheekbone and it hurt like a bitch… AND took three months to heel. So, I can definitely see where you are coming from!
I can relate to the fear of driving. I never did drive much, and my retired hubby is all too anxious to do all the driving for me. I know this isn’t good for me in the long run, but it’s just so easy to make excuses–I have a very long list. LOL
We should trade lists. If I can find a way around it, I will. I wish I could pin point when I began to hate it so much! Just way too many cars on the road and they all want to go faster than me!!
The longer you don’t drive (or do anything, I suppose), the worse it gets. You’re right about traffic: as a nervous driver, you’re taking deep breaths, trying to relax, and all around you there are swarms of drivers fresh from Starbucks with one foot on the gas and the other on the horn.
