Friday’s Foundation Find: CoverGirl TRUblend.

I am a makeup snob. I am. Especially when it comes to foundation and concealer. I know I am wrong to be this way, and that expensive does not always mean better.
My sister came over on Monday, and I looked at her and she was glowing. Her skin looked flawless, but not overly made up. Before I even had a chance to ask her, she exclaimed, “I used that CoverGirl TRUblend Liquid Foundation you gave me!”. I forgot that I gave her a bottle to try, but quickly remembered how a few of the shades were too light for me, so I passed those onto her. Thankfully, I still had two shades that looked like they were for me, and on Tuesday, I gave TRUblend my first try.
I decided to use a #2, Classic Beige. And it matches my skin to a tee.
It is a liquid foundation, and I dotted a few drops on my face and blended over with just my fingers. It offers a nice, but light coverage, which could be blended out for less coverage or applied with a brush for more coverage, but I was thrilled with the way it looked applied as so. Honestly, my face looked like me, my skin, but only better – more even and soft.
Makeup snob no more! If you wonder at all how this works, here is what CoverGirl says:
TruBlend Liquid Makeup has colorspheres that go beyond just matching your skin tone to actually merge with your skin, for a naturally flawless look.
To complete a flawless face, CoverGirl has devised a simple to use system for all of it’s TRUblend products. You see, once you find your perfect shade, you will notice that it is assigned a number, 1 – 6. As I selected a number 2, I know that I can select any of the other TRUblend products in the number 2, and it will be matched to perfection.
CoverGirl and the TRUblend products can be found for $8.99 at mass retailers and drugstores nationwide.

For the longest I used CoverGirl’s TruBlend foundation – Always loved it, never had a problem with it not matching my skin! Several months ago I switched to Bare Minerals, and I must say I prefer the way it feels over the liquid foundation on my face. – It feels, I dunno, “Cleaner”? Especially seeing as my skin is very oily.
Like the other person that commented – I love Bare Minerals. If you ask me, powder foundation is just more comfortable to wear than liquid. The coverage is great while feeling like you have nothing on your face – TruBlend didn’t feel that way to me. Plus Bare Minerals is natural – why wouldn’t you like that.
Funny – how I cannot wear Bare Mineral’s. This foundation is a nice alternative, though – I will admit. But as I am writing this after my Intervene post, I think I will not go back – at least for a while.
