Aging Fabulous

Good-Bye Cellulite.

As I was watching tv with my daughter last night, we saw a commercial for Nivea’s new Good-Bye Cellulite Cream. She chuckled, and said something to the effect of, “like that would work”.

nivea celluliteI went on to explain to Caci that you never know what works for some women, and that maybe… just possibly, a cream like this could make cellulite appear to be diminished. But that I know from working with skin creams so much, that nothing can make cellulite disappear.

I visited the Nivea website, and found that Good-Bye Cellulite Gel Cream is a new product for them and the site goes on to describe how it works:

“L-Carnitine is a substance which is naturally present in the skin. It is known to be involved in the fat metabolism – more specifically it supports the conversion of fat components into energy. A sufficient amount of L-Carnitine in the skin is therefore beneficial.

NIVEA Research has made L-Carnitine available in a gel-cream: NIVEA body Good-bye Cellulite. Additionally this gel-cream formula has a cooling effect which leads to an activation of blood circulation.

Thus: regularly used the NIVEA body Good-bye Cellulite Gel-Cream leads to a visible reduction of the appearance of cellulite at the respective body parts.”

Take note of how it states that there will be a “visible reduction of the appearance of cellulite”, and not that it will make cellulite go bye-bye. My question is, does L-Carnitine penetrate the skin. Maybe I will ask The Beauty Brains about this.

Has anyone used this yet? Please share your results if you have.
