I just listened to a very informative webinar about breast reconstruction after breast cancer. Being that it is Breast Cancer Awareness month and that I am highlighting so many “pink products” that will benefit breast cancer charities, I though it were equally important to share this webinar with you.

CLICK HERE to hear and view the presentation.

The event was hosted by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Webinar speakers and topics include:

Linda Phillips, MD, moderator
Roberta Gartside, MD, breast cancer survivor, breast reconstruction patient and plastic surgeon, used her personal experience in discussing  the importance of the “team approach” in the mastectomy-reconstruction process.
Missy Fish, ASPS 2008 Patient of Courage honoree, breast cancer survivor and breast reconstruction patient shared her personal success story of recovery and giving back.
Andrea Pusic, MD, addressed patient satisfaction and the “latest and greatest” in breast reconstruction techniques, including fat transfer and stem cell research.
Amy Alderman, MD, discussed the challenges facing Latina patients, and how age, income brackets and physical condition play a part in access to reconstruction.
