Aging Fabulous

Preparing For the Future

You must learn day by day, year by year, to broaden your horizons. The more things you love, the more you are interested in, the more you enjoy, the more you are indignant about- the more you have left when anything happens.
Ethel Barrymore

No this isn’t the fun part of aging, but a very necessary one. My Mother-in-Law died last November while on holiday in England, suddenly leaving my Father-in Law to pick up the pieces. Obviously it was incredibly difficult tying up all the loose ends, especially when he was so far from home, but he did it.

Bowling Pins and BallIt’s been ten months now and the man has thrown himself into getting on with life. He has joined tons of clubs and has even enrolled in Ballroom Dancing lessons. He also coaches a blind bowling team… and his team won the championship. His life is full and he wouldn’t have been able to do that if he hadn’t “broadened his horizons”. Ethel Barrymore definitely knew what she was talking about!
