How clean is your toothbrush?

How many of us really give it any thought?? But now that you are thinking about it, you might want to soak it in mouthwash for a minute or so about once a month. That should be enough to kill bacteria. I don’t know about you, but I would rather not catch a cold this winter if I can help it.

Lip Gloss and Your Fingers

I love lip glosses, but I hate sticking my finger into the container. Yes, I have purchased a lot of lip glosses in pots without thinking, but luckily you are finding more and more being packaged with their own brushes. Now how about something like this for your collection?? Just look at all the colors you get to mix and match!
And all of those pots I mentioned… I am saving old lip gloss wands for that very purpose.

Too Much Eye Shadow – My Rant of the Day

Other than the fact that the bigger the eye shadow pan, the more they can charge you, I don’t understand why they can’t give you a smaller amount that you can use up in six months. When you are paying big bucks for eye shadow, it really hurts to throw it away because it is getting old.

Ameripure Lite Hydration Lotion

I’m always on the kick about babying your skin as you get older and I particularly like this product. I have tried lots of moisturizers, but I really want one that is not going to feel greasy on my skin when I crawl into bed. This lotion doesn’t.
Ameripure Lite Hydration Lotion comes in a pump dispensor, which means no bacteria is going to find its way into the product and the right amount of lotion seems to come out with each “pump”. Nothing worse than taking too much and then having to tissue it off your fingers and toss …read more

*Just Don’t

I can’t believe that I am including this little reminder, but just yesterday, I saw a woman applying mascara in the car. Whatever was she thinking? Please, don’t take chances with your eyesight.
And another thing, if your mascara is over three months old, it’s time to replace it. I hate to think about all the bacteria that is growing in there and one little scratch and that bacteria would go straight into your eye!
And one thing about this particular mascara… it’s kind of interesting. The formula forms tiny tubes around the lashes that simply slide off.

*A Little History of Yogurt

Apparently the sales of yogurt skyrocketed after writer Gayelord Hauser published a book entitled “Look Younger, Live Longer, in 1950. If the sales “skyrocketed” in 1950, I wonder how much is being sold today?
And, I wonder if that book is still around? It would be interesting to see what he had to say all those years ago. Just in case, I think that I will be picking up more today… the stuff with the live bacteria.
I just wish that they would come out with more flavors and used a lot less sugar. So, here’s today’s question. What is your …read more

Whirlpool Bath… well maybe not!

Whirlpool Bath… well maybe not!

I used to have one and I have to admit that I really enjoyed reading in bath amid all the bubbling water, but I just finished reading something that made me feel just a little queasy. A test was done on teaspoons of water taken from the tap and then from a whirlpool bath. I really wouldn’t have expected there to be any difference, but I would be wrong… in a big way.
Apparently, a teaspoon of water taken from your tap contains about 138 bacteria. I don’t even like to think about that when I’m drinking the stuff. But in …read more

If It Smells Bad

Yes, I should know better, but I don’t always follow my own advice. I reached for a tube of mascara yesterday without thinking about how old it might possibly be, and twisted off the lid. I should have taken a quick sniff., but I was in a hurry. I applied enough to lengthen my lashes and then I noticed the oddest smell. And it wasn’t pleasant! I then realized that it was coming from my lashes. The mascara had gone off! I don’t even want to think about how much bacteria had to be in the tube to …read more
