Have You Been to Boomertowne?

Well, I am not officially a Baby Boomer, but my hubby is. Do I qualify by marriage?
There is a new website in town, called Boomertowne. I have seen it multiple times being plugged on TV! Yes, by way of television commercials. I was sort of surprised to see this.
When looking over the website, which is just overloaded with special guests and almost too much information, I sort of felt like I was lost in there. In the About Us page of the website, they lay claims to have three key areas, but then it goes on to …read more

Naomi Campbell: Pretty is as pretty does

You can be supermodel tall. Enviably thin. World famous. Jet-setting rich. Knock-down-drop-dead gorgeous. But — if in a petulant fit befitting the tantrum of a toddler, you wing a cellphone at the head of a woman hired to cater to your every whim — you cannot be considered fabulous. Ever.
Her maid Ana Scolavino required four stitches to mend the physical head injury sustained after being hit with the cellphone. On March 19, Naomi Campbell, outfitted in an orange vest and workman’s boots, will begin her five days of court-ordered community service mopping floors at New York’s Sanitation Department. Newspaper columnist Cathy Hamilton was chronicling a personal account of the adventures and misadventures of being a woman over 50 in a weekly column called Boomer Girl Diary for a local newspaper when she began searching online for a community of baby boomer women. What she found was there was not much to be found. And so, Boomergirl was born.
Boomergirl, created for boomer women, born 1946 to 1964, is a community-based website offering beauty, fashion, family, finances, fitness and health advice; information of all sort and the latest news; blogs written by Boomergirl staff and members; clubs to join; …read more

I think that by the time we reach our forties, we have finally come to the realization that we are responsible for our own lives. We make our own decisions and have to live with them. There is no blaming others or the conditions in which we find ourselves. But on a positive note, we have also learned that we have to initiative to make things happen.
Why don’t we learn things like this when we are twenty something?? It would have made life a whole lot easier! Don’t you agree??
