There is a new website in town, called Boomertowne. I have seen it multiple times being plugged on TV! Yes, by way of television commercials. I was sort of surprised to see this.

When looking over the website, which is just overloaded with special guests and almost too much information, I sort of felt like I was lost in there. In the About Us page of the website, they lay claims to have three key areas, but then it goes on to list 6 areas. See what I mean about information overload?

Personally, I like more niche sites and blogs, where I can get in, get out, and find specifically what I want. But, that does not mean that I am missing the bigger picture here. One thing I totally don’t get, is the flash scene on the home page of the woman with a shopping bag walking her dog! You can switch her to walk either way, and it just makes no sense whatsoever to me!!! Am I alone here in how I feel?

After that, Campbell will be required to complete an anger management program.

Boomergirl, created for boomer women, born 1946 to 1964, is a community-based website offering beauty, fashion, family, finances, fitness and health advice; information of all sort and the latest news; blogs written by Boomergirl staff and members; clubs to join; hot tip of the day, Brain Boost; and a daily Spanish lesson. You can find well-written editorials and virtual flashbacks into the past.

Boomergirl can be counted in as complementary company to BoomerWomenSpeak and Eons, all geared with a format for readers 50-plus. If you are a baby boomer, give Boomergirl a look. Although new to the internet, its aim looks to be comprehensive and I predict, will grow community fairly rapidly. After all, there is an estimated 77 million baby boomers in the U.S. alone. The youngest is now 43, and the oldest is 61. A baby boomer turns 60 every seven seconds, and this trend will continue for almost two decades to come.

That the internet is not flooded with blogs, social networks and websites focused on, and written by, this age demographic is currently a mystery to me. I suspect it is only a matter of time before we will see an influx of individuals and groups representing the baby boomer generation. Boomergirl is genius that way.
