Health foods are not only helping people stay healthy, but they are also being used to cure skin problems.
Some common foods include fruits, vegetables, fish, garlic, soy, olive oil, Aloe vera, chocolate, eggs, honey and whole grains.
One of the most popular ways of using foods are in facials, which range from a strawberry mask that someone’s grandmother suggested to the revolutionary blemished skin mask made with tomato, lemon juice and oatmeal.

So far so good. But a word of warning. If it starts to sting, wash it off quick. I once mixed up a masque/mask that contained all kinds of wonderful ingredients and it smelled good enough to eat. But one ingredient just happened to be cinnamon and my face sure didn’t like it.

Unfortunately, I thought the stinging meant that it was working. It wasn’t… it was burning my skin!

<img src="http://www.splendicity.com/agingfabulous/files/hotchocolate.jpg" align=left width="100" height="75" alt="" title="I mentioned yesterday that I’m looking into meditation for relaxation purposes and I am finding some really neat stuff. It’s not as stuffy as I thought it would be. Pretty much anything that calms you… fits into the topic. I have a lot more reading to do, but I’m kink of liking this! Here’s something that I did last night. Who knew that a cup of hot chocolate could be this healthy!

1. Make yourself a cup of hot chocolate. Personally I add one tsp cocoa, a little milk, a pinch of cinnamon to the sachet packet.

2. Pick up the cup, lean back and inhale the scent. You’ve probably have never done that! It was a first for me!

3. Continue savoring the scent for a few more moments, breathing deeply. Your breaths are much slower now.

4. Take a sip and really taste it.

5. Wrap your hands around the cup and take in its warmth. Take another sip.

Did you know that cocoa has has more than twice the phenolic compounds as in red wine and three times the amount in green tea. To be quite honest, I just liked the taste. Really didn’t know that it was that good for you!

And that pinch of cinnamon. I have a really good reason for that too. It helps to tone tissues, relieves pain and stiffness, congestion, stimulates circulation, prevents urinary tract infections, tooth decay and gum disease. And that is just for starters. I merely picked ones that appealed to me!

This just might be my nightly ritual for me, but I’m going to add more cocoa and a big pinch of cinnamon!
