When I was in New York last September for Fashion Week, I had the pleasure of getting my skin mapped by Dermalogica. Just so you know, I just turned 42 this past April so I am excited about any skin care that will do anything to keep my skin looking good! I was introduced to their anti-aging line called Age-Smart. The line is formulated for mature and prematurely aging skin. I have always been a fan of skincare that is formulated by dermatologists because they have science behind them. This line is amazing because it strips away all the fragrance and extras and gives you just great skin care. This would be great for skin that has sun damage and also ideal for sensitive skin because of the lack of fragrance.

Allure magazine says, ” The peptides and glucosamine in Dermalogica’s Age Smart target integral damage before it becomes visible to the naked eye.“ I have used it for 3 months and have noticed a significant difference in the texture of my skin. The line is a bit pricey BUT it works. get your feet wet with the starter kit and see if you like it.

Cleanser Search: RoC Age Diminishing Facial Cleanser.

When I asked about the different types of cleansers you wanted reviewed here, the first few things I got from reading your comments were that you were interested in anti-aging cleansers, and most of you wanted to know about drugstore cleansers. Well, looking at my shelf, staring at me front and center was this one from RoC, a drugstore cleanser. Age Diminishing Facial Cleanser, an anti-aging cleanser at that.

RoC Age Diminishing Facial Cleanser is a nice thicker gel type of cleanser, enriched with conditioning soy extracts. It is gentle while being hard working at the same time. Makeup and dirt is removed without stripping skin of its natural moisture balance. This is very important because harsh, abrasive cleansers can make wrinkles appear more evident and make anti-aging treatments work harder. The conditioning soy extracts and help to even skin tone and reduce rough surface skin. What you get – softer, smoother, younger-looking skin.

This cleanser is almost the consistency of shampoo, that foams into a bit of a lather when washing your face. It has a nice scent, but because of it being scented a bit more on the strong side, which can be eye irritating, I suggest using an eye makeup remover around the eye area first.

Cleanser Search: Renee Rouleau Seaweed Mineral Cleanser.

In my search for a great cleanser, I have another one to add to my list – that I am sure will continue to grow. This is Renee Rouleau’s Seawood Mineral Cleanser.

This cleanser is from Renee Rouleau, based in Dallas, who is a trusted skin-care expert . Renee own two salons in Texas, but has reached far beyond the lone star state, even creating skin care regimes for the likes of celebrities Lisa Rinna, Cheryl Ladd, and Jessica Simpson.

Seaweed Mineral Cleanser is made for dry or aging skin, and it is definitely suited for my end of the winter season, with overly dry skin.

From Renee Rouleau:

This lightweight, moisture-boosting cleansing lotion works to dissolve makeup, oil and debris, while Seaweed and Algae minerals provide essential nourishment to dry skin. Leaves dry, environmentally damaged skin feeling soft, moist and supple, without a greasy residue. Does not contain artificial dyes or fragrances.

Key Ingredients: Safflower Oil- water-soluble emollient plant oil, Seaweed Extract- antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, Algae Extract-provides moisturizing properties.

The cleanser is a light creamy cleanser with a fresh, mineral scent. A little bit, probably the size of a quarter, is all that I need to thoroughly cleanser my face and neck. The cream removes every trace of makeup, dirt, and oil from my skin. It makes my face feel instantly moisturized and stays soft throughout the day.

I really consider this anti-aging cleanser a great find. This cleanser, along with the rest of the Renee Rouleau skin care line up of over 60 skin specialized products can be purchased online at her website.
