“That morning cup of coffee may help ease post-exercise muscle soreness, if preliminary research is correct.
In a small study of female college students, researchers found that a caffeine supplement seemed to lessen the muscle pain that crops up a day after a challenging workout.
Known as delayed-onset muscle soreness, the pain is common a day or two after a workout that was more intense than normal. Exercise that involves eccentric contraction of the muscles is particularly likely to cause delayed muscle pain.”
Well, it certainly didn’t help me this morning. My back is still killing me… from shoveling snow I would …read more
Crawling out of bed!
Here is a little trick to make doing just that a wee bit easier. Invest in a coffee pot that can be programmed so that you can get up to a fresh pot of coffee in the morning. There is just nothing like the smell of coffee in the morning to get you started. And if there is someone around who will pop two slices of raisin bread into the toaster, that works too!
Is there anyone alive who actually likes mornings?? If you are out there, I sure would like to know what makes you tick!

You have been told all of your life to drink more water and it has never been more important than now. If you skin was on the dry side in your younger years, it’s going to be worse now. And while I’m writing this with women in mind, there is nothing stopping men from including more water in their diet either. It might not taste as good as a nice hot cup of coffee, but it has to be better for you. I read somewhere that for every cup of coffee you drink, you are supposed to drink two cups …read more
Today’s quote… how the years teach us

The years teach much which the days never knew. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
Have to admit that I think that I’m a lot wiser than I was… lets say… in my twenties. It’s my blog, I can say things like that! And yes, I’m thinking about that pot of coffee that is probably still warm downstairs. Kicking the habit is a lot harder that I expected it to be. Maybe it was that Pumpkin Spice Latte that I had at “Second Cup” on Saturday. Yes, I fell off the wagon!

When was the last time you emailed what used to be a pretty good girlfriend? You might have moved away, or life simply got in the way. Whatever the excuse, you might want to pick one of the cards chosen at 123Greetings and shoot it off. This is just one of the examples of what you will find. I can almost smell the coffee!

5 Ways to Pamper Yourself
Yes, I’m really big on pampering and I come up with all of these great ideas, but seldom put them into practice. Does that sound familiar?? But today I came up with a list of things that I am really going to do! Realy!!
1. Book yourself some time at a spa. They are everywhere and you won’t have any idea just how great a massage can feel if you don’t experience one. **They are heavenly!
2. We might not be building a fire in the grate these days, but by replacing the logs with several candles, you can bring about a …read more
Delight…
According to the Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary…
A high degree of gratification, extreme satisfaction, something that gives great pleasure.
The last two days have been just that for me. Yesterday, my sister took time off work to come and wish me a happy pre-birthday. It was a lovely afternoon with just the two of chatting over coffee and cinnamon twists.
And today I feel so good, I actually feel like cooking. My family is going to be amazed to come home and find that I marinated salmon and made fresh bread to go with the rest of the meal. It doesn’t happen to often …read more
Fill Up that Water Bottle

I was just thumbing through the 21st Century Beauty Bible and came across a few lines that really made me stop and think.
“Think how the water level in a vase of flowers goes down day by day. That’s what happens to your skin.”
I have been drinking way too much coffee lately and my water bottle has kind of been ignored lately. Well, after reading that, I just went down and refilled it. And, although I was tempted, I didn’t make another pot of coffee!
