When I first had my hair colored, it was just highlights. Then I started going lighter and lighter until I reached the lovely shade of light golden blonde that it is now.
Let me tell you though, this color is getting hard to maintain. It is a bit lighter in the Summer months, especially around my face. Yes – right where the grays are.

And coloring my roots every week is just out of the question. First off, it is damaging, and secondly – I do not have the time.

Was I ever thrilled to have discovered Quick Tint. Quick Tint is the instant hair root touch up. It is the immediate, foolproof and portable solution for when your roots are making their debut, or in my case for covering my quickly growing in gray hair.

It comes in a wide range of easy to match colors. The color itself is packaged in a handy pen type applicator, where you simply click the color up, out through the brush. A tiny bit is all you need, but you must brush it through to make it even, and natural looking. You can do it by way of the brush on the end of the applicator, or by using it the way I do. I apply a very small, pin head sized amount to the area, and then brush it through with a very small barbers black comb. The color covers where I want it to, and lasts until it is shampooed out.

If you have a similar problem, do not hesitate to give Quick Tint a try. Each tube is $19.95.

Seriously – pre-menopause sucks. I am growing strange little hairs in places that I never have before.
For instance, I have a very thick, wiry hair growing out on my collarbone. Strange. I am afraid to pluck it or wax it, so I am just keeping it short by trimming it a few times a week. Then there are the strangely long hairs growing in my eyebrows almost overnight. And plucking these babies hurt. They really hurt. And the long ones are thicker and darker than the normal eyebrow hairs.
What can I do about it? Nothing. Yup – nothing. It is part of growing old and entering into pre-menopause the good doc tells me.

I will say it again. It sucks. I am so not looking forward to full blown menopause.

The ‘Man With Two Brains’ star says whenever he does change the colour of his locks, his films flop.”
Why is it that men seem distinguished with white hair, but we haven’t quite caught up with that way of thinking?
I’m trying to convince myself not to pick up a box of color, but I’m wavering. What’s your thoughts on coloring your hair when the silver strands begin to appear?

A lot of factors seem to come into play. Some I was aware of, some I wasn’t. If your parents went gray early, chances are you will too. And here is one that I didn’t know. It is thought that smoking can also cause you to gray prematurely. Haven’t a clue if this is true or not… Happened across this piece of information quite by accident.

But gray hair in my opinion is all a state of mind. You have the old… “The old gray mare, she ain’t what she used to be.” Traditional American folk song
or…
I’ll be gray by the time I’m 30, but I like my hair. It looks shiny. I like the way it looks when those highlights are picked up on camera.
