There are a lot of things that they can’t be bothered to do, and as a result it’s those people who did that little bit extra who seem to come out ahead.

We had our Thanksgiving early last month, but seeing that we shared the same date until 1957, I think that it is only right that we enjoy it all over again and I even offered to cook. G just laughed as he was heading off to work!
Okay, that might have not been such a good idea, but I can call and make reservations! I’m good at that!
Hope you have a great day!!

Nobody grows old merely by living a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. ~Samuel Ullman

“The best way to get most husbands to do something is to suggest that perhaps they’re too old to do it.”
Anne Bancroft
And don’t think for a moment that this only works on husbands. If mine said that to me, I would have to do it just to prove him wrong. And I’m sure that he knows that!

“As I said just now, the world has gone past me. I don’t blame it; but I no longer understand it. Tradesmen are not the same as they used to be, apprentices are not the same, business is not the same, business commodities are not the same. Seven-eighths of my stock is old-fashioned. I am an old-fashioned man in an old-fashioned shop, in a street that is not the same as I remember it. I have fallen behind the time, and am too old to catch it again.”
Charles Dickens

There are days when I’m feeling as if nothing could go wrong, and then there are the days when I get in a mood that is about as black as they come. Must be hormones this morning, because I’m not in an overly joyous mood. But when our hormones shake up our world, it is up to us to re-think our position in it. So, today I’m going to force myself to look at life as a gift that is all tied up with ribbons of laughter. And if anyone tells me differently, chances are I will not be amused! …read more
