I cannot believe that Madonna is 50 years old. Or, make that 50 years young!

I remember listening to Madonna when I was a teenager and how my parents were like - oh, she is such a bad influence. Ha! Looks like she has the last laugh as Madonna is still going strong - in more ways than one.

Dexie - one of our very own fabulous Beauty & Style bloggers also writes in the music channel at Pop Music Scene. Dexie just posted a bit of a rant on how some “women” think Madonna is too old and should go home already. I ask - what are these women thinking? Is it not time for us to celebrate our age? And really, what do they want Madonna to do?

Well, it seems that the story that broke a few weeks ago wasn’t fabrication afterall. Obviously we wish everyone involved the best.

No one knows for sure, but there is definitely a lot of speculation on whether or not Madonna has indeed adopted a little boy. So, here’s today’s question. Do you think she is too old to take on the responsibility of raising a child, if that is her plan? I know that she will very likely have nanny’s at her disposal, but put yourself in her position. If you had the resources, would you like to have another baby?

You know, there are times when I could say yes with little hesitation! And then there is times like this morning when I just wouldn’t have the energy. Why is it that you can wake up at 4 a.m and feel wide awake and then at 10:30 you are ready to take a nap?

Well, you have to hand it to Madonna. She has to be the only woman alive who could actually sell track suits and do well at it. So, it just goes to prove that you don’t have to be twenty something to make a mark on the fashion scene.

“H& M’s celebrity fashion ranges have proved a huge success for the group. Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld and Stella Mac Cartney have both designed one off ranges which sold put within days of their launch.”

I’m sure that celebrities will be knocking themselves out to get a spot with that British retailer. And I’m sure that H& M will be more than happy to accomodate them.

Madonna has just a multi-million pound deal to front a Scandinavian clothing firm and some people think she’s not what the company should be looking for!

They are saying that the people who shop that line won’t be able to relate to someone as old… as Madonna.

I was just reading over at “The 80’s Club” that Madonna had agreed to go topless for “W” Magazine and was wondering if she was perhaps too old to pull off something like that.

My first instinct was to say… why not? And then I saw the “props” that she intended to use…”fishnet stockings, leather gloves and a riding crop.” Is there something wrong with this picture? Personally, I would have liked to have seen a bit of sophistication and I’m not seeing any!

Okay, so my daughter is twenty four and I’m a little bit older, but it annoys me to no end that she is fitter than I am. On the other hand, if nothing else, she has given me the push to exercise every day. In fact, I think I’m exercising more than I ever did before.
So here’s my list of reasons why I won’t be stopping any time soon.

strengthening the heart (most important)

fitting into jeans that were a wee bit snug (vanity)

jiggly arms (little muscle tone) (more vanity)

managing stress (really important)

I’m actually enjoying it… (who knew??)

So while I know that chances are I won’t be able to keep up with a twenty-four year old, just look at Madonna… no forget that… she needed surgery for doing too much didn’t she! Okay, I will just keep doing what is needed to stay healthy and the rest is simply a bonus!

I guess when you get past forty, there are things that you really shouldn’t be doing on the dance floor. It seems that during one of her dance routines, she injured herself enough to require surgery. I’m not sure exactly what the move was… but that had to hurt!
