Thakoon Panichgul has been on a roll ever since Tilda Swinton wore one of his gowns to the Berlin Film festival. Since then, the journalist turned designer has been getting a lot of press and his dress worn by Michelle Obama at the Democratic Convention in late August has kept his already busy schedule even busier.

Needless to say the pressure was on as he presented his Fall collection to an audience that included White House social secretary Desirée Rogers and longtime supporter Amanda Peet. All nervousness aside the show was a hit with surprisingly safe and retail-friendly clothes that combined elements of the designer’s past work. Check out the look below. I could so see myself wearing this hot little number.

The hair & makeup was also quite beautiful as well. With NARS makeup artist and seasoned pro Diane Kendal calling the shots. The look was a bit rock and roll with a touch of chic mixed in and the eyes were the focus. Soft and smoky eyes created using a reddish-brown pencil around the entire eye and smudging before applying a tight black liner on the top and bottom lashes.

Diane opted for no mascara and instead gave each of the models a strong brow. The skin was left dewy with a soft coral blush applied delicately to the apple of cheeks for a touch of color. The hair was left slightly dreamy and disheveled with a soft bun and a deep slicked over side part.

Needless to say I am all over this look and think it worked perfectly with Thakoon’s Fall collection. It was an even balance of beauty, fashion and style, done with absolute perfection.

It’s another year and another chance for everyone to show their support for women and heart disease. An illness which affects thousands of women from 40 to 60 every year. During these years it is especially crucial when a woman’s risk of heart disease starts to rise.

The Heart Truth is a national awareness campaign for women about heart disease. It is sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, part of the National Institutes of Heath, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The Red Dress was introduced by the NHLBI in 2002 and is the national symbol for women and heart disease awareness.

This year the tradition continues with the stage set and the red carpet ready for a fabulous fashion event showcasing America’s top designers and their one-of-a-kind red dresses. For the first time ever a selection of the designer dresses seen on the runway will be auctioned online in February through a partnership with Clothes Off Our Back. These are just a few of the beautiful dresses you can win through the end of February.

Of course Bobbi Brown of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics and her team of artists did the makeup as they do every year and everyone looked beautiful. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health and will be used to continue raising awareness for women’s heart health and research.
