Who doesn’t want to feel six years younger? I know I do and with every year that I grow a little older I remember thinking this age would never come. I do feel great and I am happy with the way I look, but I am also open to anything, including a fragrance to make you feel young again.
“Ageless Fantasy” by Harvey Prince is the first Anti-Aging Perfume in the world, and it does just that. I’ve been wearing it for the last month, and am extremely happy to say that all of the young men and women at Gelson’s …read more

Dressing Your Age – as in How Short is Too Short?

Forgive my rant here, but I must tell you something. I am a people watcher. A people critic. And I love to critique those that just think they are “all that” and then some!
Imagine the things I had to say to my walking buddy this afternoon when a 50-something lady with way too much makeup on, with way too much bleach in her hair, too much perfume, high heeled sneakers, and too short shorts breezed on by. Who did she think she was? Seriously. The only person that could nearly pull off this look would be Paris Hilton.

I have lots of favorites, but for some reason, I’m not wearing any today! So that lead me to wonder if you are wearing a scent… guys you too, and what it might be?? And while I’m on the topic, do you have a special spot where you apply it? Believe it or not, I like to spray it on my socks and then while I’m working on the computer, every once in a while it will drift up to me.

Shopping… my rant and my discovery!
You know how much I love shopping, well on Saturday, gave me enough material to rant about. It was nearly closing time and Britt and I were relatively exhausted. Okay, my feet were killing me, but that is parr for the course if you have been shopping all day long. And for the most part it was a good day. Until a “perfume guy” decided that I simply had to test out the latest fragrance. And he wasn’t about to take no for an answer. I hate pushy salespeople. He spritzed it onto a tiny piece of cardboard and when …read more
Fragrance and Oily Skin

If your skin is oily, you have to be careful of how much you apply. The oil will intensify the fragrance which explains why it seems that some women at the mall dowse themselves in their favorite scent before heading out.
Believe it or not, there is a good side to this oily skin problem. You won’t have to apply it so often.
Scent by Alexis

You know me and packaging… especially when it comes to fragrances. The bottle has to look just as good as the fragrance smells. Well, meet “classically trained painter Alexis Karl, Scent by Alexis is an exquisite line of hand-blended fragrances, works of art in both their composition and their presentation. Each is carefully created with all-natural oils and all the precision of the time-honored art of perfume (Alexis counts the elixirs and potions of ancient Greece, Egypt and China among her inspirations). Her scents are like nothing else on the market – warm, organic, complex, and entirely unique.”

My New Summery Fragrance and a Tip!

I was speaking earlier today about fragrances and then it occurred to me that maybe I should talk about storing them
As you have probably noticed, the prices of fragrances are climbing at an alarming rate, so be sure that your bottles are stored in a cool, dark place. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to waste a drop of one of my favorites.
Speaking of which, I really want to check out this one. It’s called Fou d’Absinthe!
The unique “hot-cold” sensation continues as the crisp, cool bite of anise contrasts with the heat of a cocktail of four …read more
Perfume 101… What to Know Before You Shop

The Scent Scale consists of top, middle and base notes…
Top notes _ Once you spray on a scent, the top notes are what you smell in the first few minutes, giving you the first impression of the perfume. Often, it’s the light, fresh citrus and floral scents that will first attract you to a perfume. Don’t let these notes fool you, though. They evaporate the quickest, anywhere from a few minutes to a half hour. Common top notes include lemon, grapefruit, peppermint, sage and orange.
And I have a lemony fragrance that smells delicious for a few minutes and then it’s …read more
