Who doesn’t want to feel six years younger? I know I do and with every year that I grow a little older I remember thinking this age would never come. I do feel great and I am happy with the way I look, but I am also open to anything, including a fragrance to make you feel young again.

“Ageless Fantasy” by Harvey Prince is the first Anti-Aging Perfume in the world, and it does just that. I’ve been wearing it for the last month, and am extremely happy to say that all of the young men and women at Gelson’s have commented on how great I smell. They have also inquired about the name of this fantastic fragrance and what a wonderful scent it is. I’ve always believed that scents can alter your mood. Have you ever walked into someones home and the smell instantly reminds you of your mothers cooking so you immediately start to feel good inside? Or a scent you smell while you’re out that brings you back to a happy memory from your childhood? Well, this is the essence behind Ageless Fantasy. This scent will not only make you feel good, but it will remind you of that famous cliche…you’re as young as you feel, and believe me, it’s one you should never forget.

Ageless Fantasy is a very well thought out and created scent consisting of pink grapefruit, mango, anti-oxidant pomegranate, jasmine and musk which helps to mask the actual smell of aging that occurs in women after the age of 40. I know it’s strange to think that this happens, but unfortunately ladies as we age, our bodies produce more of a chemical called nonenal which occurs due to the breakdown of fatty acids in the skin. According to Japanese scientist Wataru Takekoshi who works for the well known skin care line Shiseido, and one of my favorites, the breakdown results in a type of unsaturated aldehyde which emits an unpleasant “greasy” odor with grassy undertones. Sounds awful, but this is what experts say is the natural body scent of aging. Takekoshi also says that this body odor is rarely found in people who are in their 20’s or 30’s. In one study published by the “Journal of Investigative Dermatology” researchers found that women over 40 have more than twice the levels of 2-Nonenal in their skin than younger women. The same study found women over 40 also have higher levels of Omega 7 and certain other lipids which when broken down in the skin may contribute to a kind of “odor” commonly associated with older people. Well, that stinks if you ask me, but no one has complained about any odors from me so I guess the fragrance is working.

Ageless Fantasy from Harvey Prince has shown in intensive research studies that by wearing certain scents in exact combinations helps to eliminate this “odor” and to alter people’s perception of age. So fascinating really. Their study also went on to show that Ageless Fantasy scored high in the “young and passionate” category as well as the “young and active” category. That’s good news to me!

There is so much interesting information behind Ageless Fantasy that I would suggest visiting their website Agelessfantasy.com. At Harvey Prince their Mission is to bring only the best to everyone they touch and their clients interests always come first. I am also happy to tell you that Harvey Prince & Company LTD. is not only a green company but they are based in the USA. They use only the finest ingredients from France, Italy, & the USA.

Join celebrities Naomi Watts, Eva Mendes, Supermodel Heidi Klum, and The Bender Sisters just to name a few and start feeling younger wih Ageless Fantasy today. Purchase a bottle of their Age-defying perfume to start the New Year on a sweet note! You’re worth it and remember, “It is not how old you are, but how you are old”. I still run around like a teenager everyday and always say I don’t feel my age. Especially each time I spray on my Ageless Fantasy. I can’t help but smile because I feel so darn good.

Kisses,

Forgive my rant here, but I must tell you something. I am a people watcher. A people critic. And I love to critique those that just think they are “all that” and then some!

Imagine the things I had to say to my walking buddy this afternoon when a 50-something lady with way too much makeup on, with way too much bleach in her hair, too much perfume, high heeled sneakers, and too short shorts breezed on by. Who did she think she was? Seriously. The only person that could nearly pull off this look would be Paris Hilton.

We need to <del>act</del> dress our age, folks. I am not talking all elastic waists and tee shirts. I am talking flattering, comfortable clothes ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE OUT TAKING A WALK!

It got me thinking, how short is too short and at what age do we stop wearing cute short-shorts? Besides the fact that you really need to have a nice behind and legs to wear them. I just don’t think a 50 year old should be wearing them. Even a 40 year old. Maybe stop somewhere in the mid thirties? I am not sure.

I have a good friend with the smallest frame – she eats like a horse, and is very athletic, and has no problem maintaining her size 2 figure even after having 3 kids. She is 42 years old, and sometimes I even find myself thinking that some of her skimpy things are too skimpy.

Gosh, I hope I am not being a prude, but I think we need to be realistic as to how we dress at a certain age.

If you are still wearing short shorts, please do tell!

Okay, my feet were killing me, but that is parr for the course if you have been shopping all day long. And for the most part it was a good day. Until a “perfume guy” decided that I simply had to test out the latest fragrance. And he wasn’t about to take no for an answer. I hate pushy salespeople. It was nearly closing time and Britt and I were relatively exhausted. Okay, my feet were killing me, but that is parr for the course if you have been shopping all day long. And for the most part it was a good day. Until a “perfume guy” decided that I simply had to test out the latest fragrance. And he wasn’t about to take no for an answer. I hate pushy salespeople. He spritzed it onto a tiny piece of cardboard and when I didn’t look impressed, he decided that I needed to wear the stuff. Okay, at least he knew that the cardboard bookmark becomes just that, or I use it to scent my purse. I certainly wouldn’t buy a scent based on how it smelled on paper.

Well, I should have left well enough alone. It did not agree with me. I expected it to be “heady” when first applied, but as it develops, it usually softens. Not this one. It simply wouldn’t go away. On the way home, I tried to keep my coat sleeve tight around my wrist so that I wouldn’t give Britt a headache. Yes, it was that strong. Did it work… hardly. Now my coat smells like the perfume. I can only hope that it calms down after a few days.

So, was it a bad perfume. Not necessarily. It could have just been me. First of all, my skin is oily so that tends to hold onto the scent longer, and then there is my high blood pressure medication. Sometimes that can cause a scent to react badly as well. (And he didn’t help my blood pressure either.) And it is a known fact that if you are in the perimenopausal years, your hormones can affect the scent as well. Or it could simply be that it was too harst for my liking. But I did find one that I liked and I was really surprised. I’m not usually drawn to celebrity fragrances.

While browsing the perfume counter (at the beginning of our shopping day), a sales person came over with a gorgeous bottle and handed me the little card spritzed with scent and then suggested that I try it. I offered my wrist and I immediately liked the scent. And as Britt and I wandered around the mall, the fragrance simply got better and better. And who would have guessed. It was by Hilary Duff! If you haven’t checked it out, I suggest you sample it. You just might be as surprised as I was.

If your skin is oily, you have to be careful of how much you apply. The oil will intensify the fragrance which explains why it seems that some women at the mall dowse themselves in their favorite scent before heading out.
Believe it or not, there is a good side to this oily skin problem. You won’t have to apply it so often.

Her scents are like nothing else on the market – warm, organic, complex, and entirely unique.”

And apparently the scents come in solids as well. Don’t ask me why, but I have always had a thing about solid fragrance. Must be a trip down memory lane when I picked up this tub of fragrance that smelled just like fresh cut grass. Hey, that was big time popular when I was a teen!

Now a few years older and hopefully a bit wiser as well, I’m drawn to Minx by Alexis… “Minx is pure seduction, pure sexuality. Chocolate, merlot, and fig blend to create a scent that is sensual and dark, like great Cognac by a fire…”. Obviously I have moved beyond fresh cut grass.

Speaking of which, I really want to check out this one. It’s called Fou d’Absinthe!

The unique “hot-cold” sensation continues as the crisp, cool bite of anise contrasts with the heat of a cocktail of four spices, before settling into a resinous blend of dry pine, fir balsam and woody cistus.

Doesn’t that sound perfect for summer… all dark and mysterious! I even love the bottle!

I know… call me shallow!

The Scent Scale consists of top, middle and base notes…
Top notes _ Once you spray on a scent, the top notes are what you smell in the first few minutes, giving you the first impression of the perfume. Often, it’s the light, fresh citrus and floral scents that will first attract you to a perfume. Don’t let these notes fool you, though. They evaporate the quickest, anywhere from a few minutes to a half hour. Common top notes include lemon, grapefruit, peppermint, sage and orange.

And I have a lemony fragrance that smells delicious for a few minutes and then it’s completely gone, just as described above. That’s why it is soooo important to sample the scents and then walk around the mall for a few hours. If you still like the scent after the middle and base notes have developed, then go back and treat yourself.
