This is an advanced skincare treatment that will minimize the appearance of large pores, fine lines, improves skin discoloration and clears congested pores. a patented time-release delivery system allows the retinol to be released into the skin gradually for less irritation.

Help Me is a retinol based product and is very good for refining/smoothing the surface of your skin and reducing any fine lines. I use it before I put on moisturizer day and night..I have noticed recently I have some congestion/enlarged pores near my nose, this has cleared it up beautifully and without any harshness, redness or burning.

The Rundown: This is for you if…

you have deeply clogged pores

you want the ultimate multi-tasking product that will clear pores, even pigment, and reduce fine lines

you want the benefits of a vitamin a product without the peeling

you seek something more gentle than retin-a

you want a deep cleansing facial while you sleep

pregnant women should consult their physician before using this product as it contains retinol

But from exercise machines to pills to shots of oxygen, how are women really supposed to know which product’s tag-line is true to its word? For example, did you know that by doing a simple neck exercise you can eliminate saggy, droopy skin along your jaw line? But from exercise machines to pills to shots of oxygen, how are women really supposed to know which product’s tag-line is true to its word? For example, did you know that by doing a simple neck exercise you can eliminate saggy, droopy skin along your jaw line? Or, were you aware that a daily shot of pure oxygen will rid your face of fine lines and wrinkles?

According to Seattle Facial Plastic Surgeon Dr. Sam Naficy, patients are often unaware of what at-home anti-aging treatments actually work, and end up trying products after being swayed by the marketing hype. With new beauty products and treatments launching seemingly by the hour, aging women constantly have to weed through the beauty jargon to find which products actually offer the results they claim.

Dr. Naficy breaks down the most popular ones below…

The Neckline Slimmer

How Does it Work? Targets and tones the underlying muscles of your neck, chin and cheek area by applying gentle resistance

Dr. Naficy says: “As with any exercise, strengthening of those muscles will be apparent, however by overall facial exercises show no proven results when it comes to curing sagging skin in these regions.”

Glowelle Beauty Drink

How Does it Work? A powerful blend of antioxidants, vitamins and botanical & fruit extracts claims to nourish and hydrate the skin from within and help fight free radicals, known contributors to the signs of aging

Dr. Naficy says: Adding extra anti-oxidants into ones daily diet is not a bad idea, however women who expect to see true anti-aging results from a beauty drink will be disappointed. Also, most beauty drinks contain calories, therefore are not suitable for all diets”

The Oxygenating Face Shot

How Does it Work? A machine sprays atomized moisturizers onto the skin using a stream of pressurized oxygen in order to hydrate skin immediately, making the face appear smoother and plumper

Dr. Naficy says: “This treatment is nothing more than a passing spa trend as there is no strong evidence of oxygen’s effectiveness when it comes to anti-aging. Additionally, the treatments are extremely costly (approximately $500) and at least six treatments are recommended for optimal results.”

The Lunchtime Face Lift

How Does it Work? A 30 minute or so procedure involving a series of injections (different fillers can be used) and a mini face massage in order to stimulate collagen growth and provide an increase in skin thickness.

Dr. Naficy says: “Filler face-lifts are nothing new, however are becoming easier and easier to fit into a woman’s active lifestyle. Although, not for everyone (cost about $550 for one treatment), most of my patients do see a difference, with effects lasting up to two years.”

From the Kiehl’s Bright™ collection comes two new formulas – Brightening Botanical Hydrating Mask and Brightening Botanical Spot Treatment.

The mask is a unique preparation that enhances skin tone and diminishes the look of skin discolorations by reducing the production of melanin on the skin. The spot treatment was formulated to target spots and splotchiness on facial skin by reducing the look of brown spots and imperfections while promoting an even, bright complexion.

Brightening Botanical Hydrating Mask ($40)

With Vitamin C, Calcium Pantetheine Sulfonate, and White Flower Extracts

Delivers optimal hydration and overall luminosity to skin

Diminishes the appearance of skin discolorations by reducing the production and accumulation of melanin

Alcohol-free formulation with the highest concentration of Calcium Pantetheine Sulfonate

Provides a calming sensorial experience

With Ellagic Acid, Calcium Pantetheine Sulfonate, and White Flower Extracts

Reduces the look of brown spots and freckles

Visibly minimizes the appearance of discolorations

May be used on targeted spots or all over the face

Utilizes potent, natural ingredients

Concentrated treatment with Ellagic Acid boosts the intensity of the Kiehl’s Bright™ regimen

Boy, do I need these both – especially the spot treatment. If I were just as rigorous with spot treatments as I am with the rest of my facial routines, I might see some progress. I am really on the verge of many an appointment with a dermatologist for some of my problem “patches” anyway. This melasma around my lips and above my lip, not to mention the one that I had on my forehead for years now, is driving me insane. I think I will give the Brightening Botanical Spot Treatment a good ole college try though first – and use it faithfully – right? My fingers are crossed!
