Philosophy “Help Me” Retinol Treatment

As we get older, it becomes more and more necessary to use additional aides when caring for our skin. One of those aides is a peeling agent. I told you last week about my experience with a chemical peel, now I want to focus on maintenance products. One product that I love is Philosophy’s Help Me (I love that name don’t you?)

But from exercise machines to pills to shots of oxygen, how are women really supposed to know which product’s tag-line is true to its word? How Does it Work? A 30 minute or so procedure involving a series of injections (different fillers can be used) and a mini face massage in order to stimulate collagen growth and provide an increase in skin thickness.
Dr. Naficy says: “Filler face-lifts are nothing new, however are becoming easier and easier to fit into a woman’s active lifestyle. Although, not for everyone (cost about $550 for one treatment), most of my patients do see a difference, with effects lasting up to two years.”

Boy, do I need these both – especially the spot treatment. If I were just as rigorous with spot treatments as I am with the rest of my facial routines, I might see some progress. I am really on the verge of many an appointment with a dermatologist for some of my problem “patches” anyway. This melasma around my lips and above my lip, not to mention the one that I had on my forehead for years now, is driving me insane. I think I will give the Brightening Botanical Spot Treatment a good ole college try though first – and use it faithfully – right? My fingers are crossed!

Are you still using sunblock?

Even though the temperatures are falling where I live, it is still important to wear a sunblock every day. And here is something I tend to forget. You are supposed to apply it 15 minutes before you go outside. I tend to remember just before I go out the door. And for you skiers and snowboarders… you really have to pay attention to your sunblock application because of the altitude. (You are closer to the sun) Have you ever noticed bottles of sunblock with mountain ranges on the label. That’s the reason!

And if you get into the habit of applying it every day, when summer rolls around, it has become just that… a habit! And that is a good habit to have!
