Newspaper columnist Cathy Hamilton was chronicling a personal account of the adventures and misadventures of being a woman over 50 in a weekly column called Boomer Girl Diary for a local newspaper when she began searching online for a community of baby boomer women. “When I first heard the word perimenopause I had no idea what it meant. Now that I’m entering this phase of my life, the several years that precede full-on menopause, I have a much greater understanding.

I doubt that Alfred wrote this necessarily with Aging Fabulous women in mind, but that’s the first thing I thought of when I read it.
After you’ve done a thing the same way for two years, look it over carefully. After five years, look at it with suspicion. And after ten years, throw it away and start all over.
