Aging Fabulous

What Do You Do to Stay Young?

If you could only name one thing that you feel you must do each and every day to help you feel young and stay young, what would that be?

I know that I am constantly giving out advice, mostly anti-aging beauty tips, but I cannot think of one thing that I do on a continuous basis that helps me feel young. And stay young. I do wear a sunscreen everyday, and that will protect me from aging, as in  my looks. But I really don’t do much else, or at least I cannot think of anything at the moment.

I would love to hear what you do to looks, feels, and stay young. Whether it is something beauty or health related or anything else you feel necessary to do on a daily basis, I want to know. Please leave your advice about what you do, in the comments.

  1. I exercise every single day. Every. Single. Day. Have done this since I was 28. I’m 66. You would never know it.

Francine! You are my hero! I think I’ve really accomplished something when I exercise 4 days per week. Guess I’d better pick up the pace. I can’t think of anything I do to keep my young. Just wanted to compliment the poster upline. I’ll give this one some thought.

While working to recover from a serious illness, I set aside a time each morning and I learned to meditate. I also pray during this time. So I’ve nicknamed it “medi-pray”. Twenty minutes every morning to quiet the noise in my head and relax my body and connect to my spirit. I found this to be the time of day I look forward to, not only for medical reasons but for the beautiful Grace I find while doing it. I never dreamed anything like this would be so fulfilling. I am a total beauty junkie, I have written for an online beauty magzine and tried thousands of products, but this time might be the ticket to keeping my inner and outer beauty in tact. Sometimes to multi task, I will do an at home face mask while I meditate. Total rejuvenation!

I work out every day … but my real fountain of youth is my vegan diet. So many people tell me “oh, I could never do that”, but whatever – it’s a quality of life issue for me. When I have the kind of energy I have every day – and when I look at myself in the mirror – I know it’s the right lifestyle for me.

moisturise, moisturise, moisturise. (and drink plenty of water)

  6. t5 says:

exercise, steam bath, healthly organic foods (no processed foods) stretch, breathe deeply, and most important of all REMOVE STRESS FROM YOUR LIFE. no matter how hard it is to remove it, it’s still easier than living with it for the rest of your life.

  7. Nicole says:

I don’t do ANYTHING for the purpose of ’staying young’ – youth ends, and it’s not a tragedy. I work out and do my best to eat right and remain open-minded. I will not stay young, I will get old, but I will be healthy and wise.

  8. Cathy Warren says:

Staying young is not only physical, besides working out and eating well, I use music from my youth, a blast from the past, if you will; You know how a song can take you back, remember how unafraid you were to take risks and just have fun. Crank it up, dance and sing out loud.
Remember your old friends, how each day was a new adventure, and start some new ones.

  9. Kitwench says:

I play with my kids , hell, I *play* , every day.
I have crayons, I make candles, play millbourne with the kids, and I lead a Camp Fire USA group of young teens – we go camping, play Twister, and I get to hear their music, their ideas – youth is for fun, and fun is what too many age for lack of- all the beauty regimens in the world will fail if they leave out the true nature of what it is to be young.

  10. Ha ha. The secret is no secret at all- Sing, laugh and love. What else ?
Of course take some exercise, eat well but before all else, its to get as much joy from everyday as you can.
Create something. draw, write, paint, sing compose leave something behind that you love to do.
Get too involved with vanity and it shows.
Other than that a light touch of vaseline after a shower and before you go to bed.
Keep smiling for heavens sake. Its contagious.
