Be Grinch-chic for this week’s holiday parties!

It seems the Grinch has come to town this holiday season, with limited spending and low-key holiday parties becoming the new trend forecast. Companies are spending less money on corporate parties by cutting down extravagant food and liquor, using smaller venues, inviting fewer guests and even buying less expensive glassware. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t look glamorous and spread the holiday cheer.
Suki Duggan, owner of the Donsuki salon & spa (62nd and Madison), says you can create your own personal look and style to stand out at simple holiday parties, without spending as much on expensive hair products and treatments at salons. Creating a classy up-do can be a quick and efficient process, and the style turns out to be chic at any holiday event. All you have to do is follow Suki’s quick and easy steps to do it yourself:
1) Divide the hair horizontally to the ear and mist with liquid hairspray. Assemble the back part in a ponytail. Mist with glazing hairspray a small lock of hair and comb in upwards.
2) Secure hair with a tail comb and twist it as an “arch” over the ponytail, ending beneath the ponytail with an open pin.
3) Take an additional lock of hair on the right side, mist it with glazing spray, and secure with a tail comb.
4) Continue twisting the hair over the ponytail, forming arches – each arch on top of the other. Secure over the first arch with an open pin.
5) Leave the tail combs in until the spray dries. You can use a hair dryer, then remove the combs.

Your friend’s makeup looks great, too.
