Beautiful Handbound Books

I recently gave a friend of mine a new journal for her birthday. Journals and blank books are perfect gifts for the people in your life who love to write, draw, or sketch. Writing and journaling is very cathartic and I myself have a nice collection of pretty leather and other bound books.

You can find journals of all sizes, colours and types at your local bookstores but hand-made journals are the way to go when you want to give a gift that is one of a kind. I found a few beautiful choices at Etsy.

This gorgeous handmade book by La Paperie is called the Book of Memories ($195). It measures 9″H x 12″W x 1¾”D. You can customize this book, for an additional fee, by adding your loved one’s initials (up to 3 initials). There are 192 (or 384 both sides) unlined pages and this lovely book can be used as a journal, album, sketchbook or even a scrapbook.

This soft cover journal by Kreative Link is handpainted with a pretty gold coloured tree on the front. The Swirl Tree Leather Journal ($45) cover is made of leather sewn on felt and the paper is handtorn and bound with linen thread. It measures 11 x 16 and has 120 pages (240 front and back). Gorgeous!

A lastly this stylish book by My Handbound Books is a Caramel Leather Journal ($55) that measures 6″ x 5½”. Perfect for travel! There are 320 blank pages with 20 sheets of off-white mulberry paper. The clasp will keep the book closed and their secrets safe.
