Black Tie perfumes at the Scented Life!

Oh, my, do I have a busy weekend planned. I agreed months ago to donate two of my signature Richmond scents to the SMAsquerade. Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) is a genetic disorder that unfortunately, kills more babies than any other genetic disorder. You can learn more about the specifics here. The good news is that, unexpectedly, I was told that my donation would actually allow me to attend the SMAsquerade.
And of course, a black tie affair requires a black-tie scent. I’m rocking Parfumerie Generale Bois Blond to this one. I just finished my black-tie manicure in OPI’s Kangarooby (it’s ruby-tinted, get it?). And I’ll be testing out my new Beth Bender Get in Line kit – if it’s good enough for J.Lo and Beyonce, it’s good enough for me. To really amp up the glam I’m going to be using MAC’s smoke signals eyeshadow quartet. *cat-calls and whistles*
But naturally, that’s not all that’s going on. Today is the second day of the National Folk Festival in Richmond. I’m headed down there in just a few to check out all the sounds, smells, and sights of this great event. I went the past two years, and even though rain marred the first, it’s a great time. Because I spent all of last night smelling cotton candy and funnel cakes, I’m testing Mariah Carey’s new fragrance. It’s quite a bit more floral than I’d expected – if you like sweet scents, but also florals like Vera Wang Princess or Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely, I’d check it out.
Well, I’ll try to report in about the SMAsquerade. I can’t wait! I hope there’s champagne.
