Bring Me A Brahmin Bag!

January 2, 2008 by admin

Oh my gosh! I have so found my next new bag. It’s the Brahmin bag and I want one. These bags are simply delicious looking. I had to see how they were made, what it took, what kind of leather was in it. All that. It’s very, very important to me.

I wonder if it’s too early to ask for it for next Christmas? Hmmm…..

  1. Linda Olmert says:

Brahmin bags are made in China. The leather they use is not italian but who knows where it comes from because it is hard as a piece of cardboard. Stop dreaming women, Brahmin bags are not a luxury item and never will be.

  2. Linda Olmert says:

I almost forgot. The video you see here is from their little factory somewhere in America. They make only a hand-full of bags there, the vast majority is made in China however.

  3. Linda, that’s intriguing information. Where did you get your information from?

  4. CL says:

Ya too bad they moved production to China where 12 year kids make the bags, funny they still cost they same high price ! Massed produced *luxury* goods from China, how funny.

I too read Linda’s comment and was intrigued. So I called three Brahmin stores and the employees at the first two refused to tell me where the bags were made saying that their factory was in Fairhaven, MA. But at the third store, I spoke with the manager and the made in China info was confirmed. Although at first, the manager too was hesitant as to say where the bags were made. The thing is, I had purchased a bag for my mother in law and when I looked closer, it had the Made in China label inside (it was hard to find though). That is when I called and asked. So the manager finally told me how it works, which confirmed Linda’s comment. Having said that, I do not like bags made in China. And I spent quite a large amount for this bag. I am upset. Too late now, I’ve already given the bag to my mother. But from now on, I am checking the inside labels before I buy.

  6. Ruth says:

Why would I pay $400 for a bag that probably costs Brahmin $15 to make ?

  7. Carolyn says:

The factory here in Fairhaven, Massachusetts has recently expanded.
Didn’t ever hear they were making bags in China….maybe there are some knock-offs

I like nice purses, but you are right some aren’t as stupid. I am glad who we are does not depend on what kind of purse we carry. My friend doesn’t know what a Coach or Brahmin or Dooney and Bourke is! She would never pay that for a purse. She is a wonderful person, as I feel I am, and I like them. Doesn’t matter does it? Ok to have nice things, but don’t look down on those who don’t want these bags. What difference does it matter whether one carries a name brand bag or not. If they like the knock offs, they just won’t pay or can’t afford the real ones. So what. I do think it is bad for the copiers though, to do that and take someone elses idea. Bought a fake Louis Vitton one time. It looked like leather straps, and they break. Paid 129.00 for it. I would rather put that on the real thing. Maybe a Coach or Brahmin. I would never pay 1,200.00 for a bag! Just me. I would rather have it in the bank or have more bags. Some can afford it all. If so, go for it. I can do it, but I won’t. Certainly won’t run up credit cards to impress others.
