Crystal Barrettes for Holiday Party Hair

Headbands have been the hottest hair accessory for the last couple years thanks to Blair Waldorf and Gossip Girl.  As Blair goes to college and sheds her old ways, I predict that her characteristic hairstyle will also begin to morph.  I’m not exactly certain about the direction that Blair’s hairstyle will take, but I would advise her to look into think that the next big hair accessory trend:  barrettes.

Barrettes are versatile and offer many creative options for playing with your hair.  Barrettes look great with hair down, half up, ponytails, and dressy updos.  I love any length of hair with lots of voluminous waves and a flashy barrette pinned on one side.  A hint of sequins is super popular this winter, so if you don’t want a full wardrobe piece with sequins you should definitely try a barrette.
