Ed Hardy (StyleRocket)

In this month’s Lucky magazine I got a sample of Christian Audigier’s new perfume and cologne for Ed Hardy.  Ed Hardy is known as “the godfather of modern tattoo”, for his sophistication, depth and sense of experimentation. California native Don Ed Hardy is recognized around the world for his technical brilliance and mesmerizing imagery. Don Ed Hardy pulls from life experience to meld American, Japanese, Cholo, tattoo, surf and hotrod iconography. This broad spectrum of taste and experience, coupled with an ongoing investigation of various art histories and a mastery of technique, give his work a unique range and depth.” (StyleRocket)

Unfortunately, the women’s perfume especially turned out to be just another fruity-floral and the men’s scent isn’t much more interesting.  I like the tattoo imagery but for $55, I really can’t endorse it!  But the perfume and cologne are available here, in case you’re up for it.

The notes:

apple soufflé, mango, wild strawberry, rudy red grapefruit, freesia petals, watery muguet, linden blossom, warm amber, musk, tonka bean and vanilla pudding

bergamot, mandarin, clary sage, thuja, mint julep accord with ozone, musk, sequoia forest and amber

  3. Michelle Smith says:

I don’t know for sure, Ralf, but I’m guessing it has to do with the vivid coloring and art of tattoos. Possibly part of the branding is the coloring of the product and the packaging – it has a bold look, stands out.

  4. this is the style from Ed Hardy an I like them.
