Epilators, Anyone?

May 7, 2008 by admin

To be honest, epilators are not so popular in my country. The mostly used method of hair removal are waxing and plucking. I did not even know what epilators are before someone asked me to try epilators!I’ve a review about a certain brand of epilator brewing up, and before I have it up, I would like to ask my readers – do you use epilators, and how has it fared on you?I’d love to hear from you!

Oh my gosh I didn’t even know people used these anymore. I don’t use one. My mom used to have one like way back in the day and I remember her screaming in the bathroom because it hurt so bad lol

I use a Braun Silk Epil, mostly because i think it’s more earthy friendly than disposing of razors all the time, but I only have to use it once a week too (if I remember) :-0

That’s good thinking Kim! It never crossed my mind that there’s an alternative to razors.
As a guy though, I can’t stand electric shavers. This epilator thing has me thinking though. Do they make such a thing for nose hairs? I can’t stand nose hair, and to be able to zap it away for at least a while longer would be a blessing! Any thoughts?

The first time I tried an epilator was 10 years ago when my sister’s then-boyfriend (now husband) bought her one from Hong Kong.

At that time, it was a sort of painful experience. I would dread having to use the epilator but then I know that it was worth all the pain…

I hate shaving! I was traumatized when I got a very long razor burn on my legs and never tried shaving again.

Anyway, unfortunately, my sister’s epilator got broken and from then on I started getting myself waxed at salons.

And then lately, I had a friend buy me an epilator from HK. She got me the Braun Silk Epil :) And compared to before, the experience isn’t as painful since I’m using to waxing :) It’s actually quite addicting, haha!

I’m definitely loving my epilator now. It definitely saves me a lot of money since I don’t have to pay for a monthly wax… and I pay like Php 1,000 just to be hairless .. monthly!

I use EPILADY’s epilator. It is better than waxing and shaving!!!

I’ve heard a lot about the Braun Silk Epil. Do you think that’s available in the Philippines and where? :)
