Fake Being Awake with Concealers

After a long night of partying or cramming for a test or even if you’re a night owl (like me!) you might start to notice dark circles or discoloration under your eyes. This is caused but numerous variables but lack of sleep is probably the biggest culprit.

I feel one of best things to come out the billion dollar beauty industry is the invention of concealers. They are life savers! No one wants to look run down and tired even if you’re not run down and tired. Concealers are the next best thing to getting a full 8 hours of sleep.  They also work wonders if you want to hide a little redness or blemish.
Below are two concealers I’ve tried and would recommend…

Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing Concealer/Shadow Base ($18) -  This concealer is a best seller for Benefit and if you try it you’ll probably love it too. It’s creamy and goes on very smooth. This is a good choice if you’re one of the lucky ones and don’t need a lot of coverage or only have minor discoloration. Probably the only downside to this is the pot or compact is shallow so you don’t get much product (only .1oz!) but it definitely does work.

Make Up For Ever Camouflage Concealer ($18) If I had to choose one concealer to use for the rest of my life, it would be this one. I tried this after I used up Benefit’s Boi-ing and I haven’t looked back.  The post is small but you get .24oz of product for the same price as the Benefit concealer so it’s really a no brainer .   The consistency is creamy, non drying, goes on smooth and doesn’t cake. Coverage is build-able and opaque, just perfect really. I also love how it comes in a lot of shades and is also available in the colour correcting shades of green, yellow green, mauve, orange and pink.

If you’re looking for a new concealer to try definitely consider the ones above. You can purchase both at Sephora.

I just started using the Make-up Forever Concealer Pallete and it’s great. I also use Sue Devitt’s Bermuda Triangle ($22 at Bloomingdale’s) undereye concealer stick, which is a peach color. The stick hides and then I tap on a small amount of the light Makeup Forever concealer right at the center of the undereye which brightens up the area without giving the dreaded raccoon look.
