Get Your Curls Ready for Winter

One of the most knowledgeable ladies around, Keneesha Hudson, CEO of Urbanbella – a hot salon for all hair curly, kinky, and wavy, emailed me today with some winter tips for keeping our hair – curls and all – happy and healthy!

As many of you know, my hair is naturally curly, and while straightened, it still exhibits many curly hair personality traits!

According to Keneesha, hydrating is the name of the game. “As it starts to cool down curly hair (already prone to dryness) gets even drier due to the crisper hair. Counteract this by increasing hydration hair therapy!” One way to “pump up” moisture is doing frequent deep hair conditioning treatments and steam hydration. An at-home recession friendly (but still spa-worthy) experience is to towel wrap your deeply conditioned tresses for 20 minutes after at least every other shampoo before rinsing.

Keneesha’s product recommendation when deep conditioning isOuidad 12 minute Deep Treatment – this is one I’ve actually tried and it’s awesome!

Stay tuned for more tips soon – we’ll be ready for winter in no time! (At least our hair will be. Sigh.)

I also highly recommend Ouidad’s 12 minute deep treatment, I just wish I had discovered it sooner! :-)

Ouidad is hosting a 25th anniversary contest and the deep treatment you mention is todays’ prize!
