Still shopping for Dad? Here’s another scent for you to consider, Gucci by GUCCI Pour Homme is a Woody Chypre. It has an elegance that comes from a combination of masculine florals like violet, combined with a touch of leather and tobacco, then grounded with cedarwood.
Gucci by GUCCI Pour Homme
, recently named a Fragrance of the Year Finalist by the Global Fragrance Foundation, was developed by Frida Giannini, who is the Creative Director of Gucci. It’s intended to be capture the essence of the Gucci man – powerful, masculine, and elegant.
Gucci has chosen actor James Franco as the face of Gucci by GUCCI Pour Homme, unique choice. He does have an interesting elegance to him (stop picturing James Franco in Pineapple Express, that’s so not what Gucci is going for here). You can see the commercial here.
I love this one. Gucci by GUCCI Pour Homme reminds me of my dad. I can smell a touch of Calone in there, which is way over-used these days, in my opinion, but it’s in the background, it’s subtle, not the over-riding note. Greg said that it reminded him of his Grandpa and that does not that it has an “old” scent – it’s just very classy. I really like it a lot and this is a scent that I would absolutely purchase as a gift.
Fragrance notes: Cypress, Calone, Violet, Bergamot, Incense, Leather Accord, Tobacco, Amber, and Black Pepper.
