Hooded Scarf is a Must-Have for Fall

I’ve added another accessory to my list of Must-Haves for Fall: the hooded scarf. Similar to the snood, the hooded scarf is versatile and stylish. I am always misplacing hats, scarves, and gloves in the winter so I am so happy to discover accessories that cut down on the amount of items that I need to carry around with me. The hooded scarf combines the function of the hat and scarf by providing cold weather protection for the top of the head, ears, AND neck with one piece.
The look is similar to the silk scarves that you wrap around your head and tie around your neck in the summer with your big movie star sunglasses to protect your face from the sun, but is much more casual and cozy for cold weather. Here are some affordable and fashionable styles for you to try…
Athleta Cable Hooded Scarf $59
Athleta, the athletic apparel branch of the Old Navy/Gap/Banana/Piperlime conglomerate, has lots of functional and cute merchandise. This hooded scarf in Dark Grape has a cable knit pattern and a jersey lining for added softness and comfort.
2890 by Arne & Carlos Intarsia Hooded Scarf $48
Scandinavian knitwear designers Arne & Carlos produced this beautiful thin and wide black, white and red intarsia scarf in a special collection for Urban Outfitters. If you prefer patterned scarves, this is definitely the choice for you. I love intarsia knits for winter…traditional, yet stylish!
American Apparel Unisex Hooded Scarf $22
Just like everything else at American Apparel, this scarf is soft, thin, cotton, and comes in tons of fun colors. Oh and it’s also extremely affordable…so you might as well get a few different colors! My favorite colors are Dark Emerald and Navy.
