How to Wear Colored Sunglasses

If you love the colored acetate sunglasses, you are probably wondering how to pick which color is right for you.  Styles like the Ray Ban Wayfarers and Carrera plastic aviators are so adorable and come in every color that you can imagine.  I would suggest picking a color that works well with your skin tone instead of worrying about pairing with colors in your wardrobe.  The color of your sunglasses doesn’t need to match your clothes, they just have to look good on you!

Here are some tips for picking sunglasses in the right color for you:

  • Dark hair and dark eyes.  This usually includes Asians, African Americans, and ethnicities with olive-colored skin.  Wear sharp colors like red, black, or navy.

  • Light hair and light eyes.  This includes those with blonde hair and light-colored eyes or brunettes with light-colored eyes.  Wear soft natural colors like brown and plum.

  • Red hair and hazel/brown eyes.  Wear soft colors with golden undertones like beige, orange, and dark brown.

  • Light hair and freckly skin.  Wear warm colors like peach and golden yellow.

Ray-Ban has a fun Colorize website where you can browse through their entire collection of acetate sunglasses in their popular Wayfarer and Clubmaster styles.  See if they have a color that works for you!
