Ivory Grosgrain and Spider Hairbow

Ladies, please give up on the hippie hairband. No, seriously. I saw this rich teenager on NYC Prep the other day wearing a like neon polyeurethane hairband straight across her forehead, and I literally blushed in embarrassment for her. It just doesn’t look that good on many people, and you know it’s played out if Upper East Side teenagers were into it six months ago, when the show was filmed. I beg of you, give it up. You won’t be sorry. And, I have an alternative.

Oh creepy cute, my favorite aesthetic designation. Seriously, though, this hairbow is equal parts adorable and bizarre. I would rock it with my most ladylike dress, flats, and pearls. Something very if-Blair-Waldorf-met-Tim-Burton. I realize that this Tarina Tarantino bow might not appeal to everyone, and thank god for that, really, but it’s just to get your started thinking of ways to pull your hair back without resorting to be-feathered, beaded, and suede styles that flatten your hair and leave a line across your face.
