Lace Paneled Dress by Stella McCartney

Technically, fall doesn’t begin until September 22nd, but fall styles are already here. Despite the chart-topping temps in my neck of the woods, I am stocking up on low-heeled boots, black tulip skirts, and structured shouldered jackets. This season’s dresses seem to be coming in two lengths, an ultra goth skirt to the floor, and a super 90’s skinny mini. I love the way the stretch fabrics of the 90’s, like net, mesh, and lace, are being revitalized, and I especially like them with an extra dose of pre-90’s retro, like this Stella McCartney dress.

49562_ou_dlThis dress is so hot, I’m literally ready to kill anyone who comes between me and it. Of course, no one is, just my wallet. But, price be damned, I am loving Ms. McCartney’s ultra modern take on a remembrance of things past. Stretch lace never looked this elegant. The shape is classic 40’s, with the cap sleeves and tailored cut, but the lace cutouts make it terrificly daring. Available for $1,995 from Net-A-Porter.
