Marc Jacobs Daisy Silver Edition

I love to sample new scents. I try to identify the notes and then I quiz my daughters on them, (Do you smell the sandalwood in this one? Can you tell that this is an Oriental?). I probably drive them nuts, but it’s great fun to me.
Recently, I had the opportunity to sample and review Marc Jacobs new scent for Fall, LOLA. It’s a Fruity-Floral with a grown-up feel to it. I really liked it a lot, but I still wondered about another Marc Jacobs scent – Daisy.
I’ve written about it before, because it seems like they are always coming up with a new way to repackage the fragrance with a gift set or in some sort of cute jewelry with a solid fragrance hidden within. I find the Daisy esthetic adorable. Much in the way I judge a book or a bottle of wine by the cover or label, I assumed the fragrance beneath petals would smell girly and fun.
Well, I finally got the chace to smell it and I was in no way disappointed. Lucky for me, I got the best bottle ever of Daisy to sample. The Daisy Eau de Parfum Silver edition. The limited edition bottle was designed by Wilhelm Liden for Coty Prestige. It’s silver and shiny – like a lovely mirrored bottle of Daisy with golden petals.
I’ve brought it out to show literally every person who has visited my home in the last 2 weeks. “Look at this!” I say. “Is that the cutest perfume bottle you’ve ever seen?” Of course, everyone is in agreement. If you are a fan of Daisy, you’ve got to get this special version and if you are new to the scent, like me, then this is the perfect place to start.
Fragrance notes: Strawberry, Violet Leaves, Ruby Red Grapefruit, Gardenia, Violet Petals, Jasmine Petals, Musk, Vanilla, White Woods
The Daisy Silver Edition will be available September 2009.
