More cuts to New York Fashion Week

The New York Fashion Week Fall 2009 collections are just around the corner… and new designer cutbacks have been announced!
Marc Jacobs has decided to cut the number of invites to his always-popular runway show.
How deep of a cut?
Well… this year only 700 lucky fashionistas will get to take in the spectacle. That’s a drop from the normal 2000 invites that go out.
But does the spectacle really change the design? Are we going to love the quilted nylon “Casey” tote any less because there wasn’t champagne on every seat?
Of course not!
I’m sure his employees are breathing a sigh of relief that their jobs are safe for a few more months. What’s better – keeping skilled accessory makers employed, or throwing a party that only lasts a few hours?
