My 2009 New Years Skin Resolutions

This year, I have some goals in mind for my skin. In no particular order, here are my 2009 New Years Skin Resolutions.
To start, I will commit to always washing my face at night. You know those late nights I’m referring to – the ones where all you want to do is crash in bed and forget that a good scrub will only take a few more minutes of your time. Sure, you could snuggle down sooner…but is it really worth the inevitable pimple in the morning?
Next, I’ll be finding a new spa for a facial every once in a while. I don’t have any particular desire to start getting facials all the time…but i do miss having someone to turn to when my face really needs it. In California, I had a regular, predictable, within walking distance place to go. I need to replicate that in Toronto.
Finally, I will be kind to my wallet and start alternating expensive products with less costly/still effective alternatives. This one is a bit trickier, and will require some more research and maybe a little bit of trial and error before finding something that works. But just by switching back and forth between high end items and drugstore brands, I could easily be saving a $100+ dollars a year. That adds up to a nice spare change/coffee budget.

I think this is great!!! I have started cleaning my face every night (it’s only been 2 weeks) and now I feel gross if I don’t. I’ve never had a facial before. What’s the benefit? I never had much acne until this year which was a shock. I wonder if a regular facial would help.
Anyway, great post and good luck with this resolution in 2009!
Rachel, I’ve been using the Garnier products recently and I’m happy with the results. I’m 42, with a few fine lines and some breakouts – so taking care of my skin is important to me. I think that because the products are so reasonably priced, I’m not skimpy about how much I use – so I get a good solid application of moisturizer with sunscreen, etc. Anyway, I mentioned this because you said you are looking for a good drugstore brand to switch up with the high end stuff.
