NPR reports on perfume from Afghanistan

I really liked this segment – not only because it’s about a subject near and dear to my heart, but it seems like making perfume instead of heroin has to make the world a slightly better place. My favorite quote: “You grow flowers, then you refine it using relatively simple technology into something that has very high value per volume and then export it to the market — only it’s completely legal.” I’d love to be able to smell some of the oils that are being produced!
