Adventures In Dress Shopping

I wanted so desperately to have a traditional 30’s wedding dress with long sleeves and pearl buttons. But then reality set in. I am getting married in New Orleans. In April. If it’s 76 degrees out today, how hot can I expect it to get on April 4th?

Perfect Details Silk Gloves

That’s not a riddle, it’s just my rhetorical way of saying that I don’t get to wear that kind of dress. Gloves, on the other hand, I can do. I just ordered these beauties from Perfect Details, and they were well worth the price. Cellophane thin silk with a silky smooth hand and, yes, pearl buttons.

They are the perfect way to get the look I’m going for without committing to potentially deadly (from heat exhaustion!) sleeves. Available in many colors for $105 from Perfect Details.

For those of us who will probably never get married because we are deeply afraid of committing to anything beyond a one-year membership at a gym, wearing these at our weddings will probably never happen. I would buy them and wear them out to coffee on a first date. That should impress the pants off him.

Ha! No doubt. They come in black, too, in case of spills…
