Perfume of the Day: Allure Sensuelle by Chanel

alluresensuelle.jpgAlthough I appreciate the perfume-craft behind almost all Chanel perfumes, to actually wear them they are hit and miss for me.  For instance, I always want to love Coco Mademoiselle, and just can’t.  And I usually think that I don’t like Allure, but I really do.  So I wasn’t excited to try today’s sample of Allure Sensuelle eau de parfum, but it is just comfortable and warm. Sensual, indeed, like the name suggests – the classic Chanel aldehydes, citrus and heart of rose/jasmine/iris, all swathed in an ambery-vetiver with just a whiff of patchouli and vanilla.  Instead of a very private, closed sensual, though – this is like an open hearted, open arms sensual.  It gets a bit boozy on me after an hour or so, and it’s probably a bit much for summer but I do quite like it.  Cait over at Legerdenez, however, didn’t.  I will agree that the original Allure is much, much more interesting and classier.

I do like Allure better but I also love this. It’s lovely and lasts a long time on me.
