Perfume of the Day: Lancome Magnifique

The lovely Anne Hathaway (of Princess Diaries, Brokeback Mountain, and The Devil Wears Prada) is the face of this perfume. It seems to be on a similar trend-path as the recently reviewed Estee Lauder Sensuous. That is – woody but wearable. This is a rose-wood blend, with more spice and less vanillic, gourmand notes. I get citrus and the cumin makes it kicky where the Bulgarian Rose might otherwise make it a bit too sedate. Reminds me more than a little of Alexander McQueen’s Kingdom, which also featured cumin. I’d love to smell it on a man.
notes: saffron essence, cumin, Bulgarian rose, Mai de Grasse rose, jasmine, sandalwood, papyrus, and vetiver.

I love Lancome because it has my name
but also their perfume brand Miracle smells amazing. It’s probably one of the few perfumes that I actually can stand to smell.
I want to try this one but I don’t know about the wood/rose smell.
Lan,
Miracle is much different, but I’d stop by your local Lancome counter and give it a sniff. Different can be good!
