Pomegranate – Autumn’s Beautiful Fruit

I live in California, where it is currently Pomegranate season. Pomegranates, if you have never had the opportunity to eat one, are an apple-sized red fruit. The outside is leathery, but when cut it, you will see that the inside is full of little seeds that are each surrounded with sweet fruit. We used to have neighbor whose Pomegranate tree hung over into our yard. My sister and I loved to get into the fruit - Mom hated how it stained our little matching outfits.
The Beauty Counter Blog has this to say about Pomegranates:
POMEGRANATE/ (pom-a-gran-it)/ n./ 1. A biblical fruit native to the Mediterranean region, with a reddish rind, sweet aromatic scent, and filled with hundreds of edible seeds; / 2. A traditional representation of fertility, pomegranate is packed with antioxidants that fight free radicals, which can age the skin, e.g., “Modern goddesses continue to enjoy the natural, youth-enhancing properties of pomegranate, a beauty staple from the cradle of Western Civilization.”

The anti-oxidants in Pomegranates make it an excellent ingredient in skin care products. Burt’s Bees features it in many of their products including their Naturally Ageless Night Creme.

If you are a bath lover, Ortigia Sicilia Pomegranate Bath Oil, a product of Sicily is available at At Home On Main Street.

I LOVE pomegranates! They can be messy, but they are delicious. And as you’ve found, there are lots of good and yummy smelling products out there made from pomegranates. How sweet is that?!
My favorite right now is from Bath & Body Works…it makes me think of Christmas when I wear it.
Thanks for commenting Leah. They can be very messy, but I love how they are something to do as well as something to eat. Like a puzzle for your tummy. Hhmm, maybe a puzzle for your tummy is not such a good thing? ;D
I will check out that Bath and Body Works scent. Thanks for recommending it.
