Prada Butterfly Sunglasses

If you follow celebrity style and gossip as much as I do, you probably have already noticed (and coveted) the signature Prada Butterfly Sunglasses that are being worn by nearly every celebrity in Hollywood. I have spotted these fabulously simple butterfly-shaped large plastic frames on Kate Moss, Jessica Alba, Paris Hilton, and Rihanna. If I could only choose one pair of designer sunglasses to possess this summer, it would definitely be these!

As if I didn’t already love Prada enough, these sunglasses had a most unique and artistic debut at New York Fashion Week in 2008.  In a fantastical and pleasantly eerie animated film entitled “Trembled Blossoms,” a fluttering butterfly is plucked from a flower and morphed into a pair of beautiful Prada sunglasses. I love how Prada can make such a subtle design move with the slight wiggle along the edge of the frame and suddenly transform the expected round oversize frame into something original and iconic. I do think that this style will become a classic, so I am planning on finding a pair for myself as soon as possible.
