pretty pearls

Okay, so I’m still looking for wedding jewelry – but you can wear pearls with lots of different outfits too!

I just recently stumbled across the work of James Murray and was really impressed! His website is being redesigned, but this is one of the pieces available.

It’s called “Bubbles” and is made from glass pearls & gunmetal. Bold, but so pretty!

I love pearls! I got my first strand of white pearls with matching earrings for my wedding. Since then, I’ve gotten another white pearl necklace – a strand of baroque pearls with more pearls hanging down in a triangular shape.

Recently, I got a large strand of faux pink pearls and matching earrings. I didn’t think I could do pink pearls because I’m so pale and pink tends to make me look flushed. However, everyone seems to agree that they look great on me, even better than the white. I’m very glad I tried them on and I’d love to see more people experiment with the different colors.

The great thing about pearls is that they are so versatile. I’ve worn them to formal events and to the grocery store while wearing jeans. No matter what you wear, they dress up the outfit. And *good* faux pearls can be just as inexpensive as a lot of jewelry that looks cheap, but it isn’t as versatile and doesn’t look as classy.

There are some really pretty colored pearls on the market these days – definitely worth checking out!
