Reason to Love Fall: Outerwear

Bare arms, legs, and tan skin are all trademark qualities of the Summer season. Covered arms, legs, and light skin are all trademarks of the Fall season. And there are pieces of clothing that make these trademarks pop. One of those trademarks is outerwear.
For some people, myself included, a coat is a coat. I’ll buy one new one a year (perhaps in black or brown), put it in my closet and hope that it gets cold enough to wear. But, for others, outerwear is the bread and butter of a Fall wardrobe. It adds pop, it adds color, and it can certainly be “the” accessory for that particular outfit.

This coat takes the classic pea-coat to the next level with the addition of a silk tie to the top. I think if Jackie O were alive today she would rock this look. Just make sure you wear it with the right pants and top! Or, you could, as my mother would say, “look like an old lady!” This coat is black and cream wool with bracelet sleeves. It is $347.50 from theoutnet.

If you’re looking to add some color to the otherwise drab, gloomy, and dreery Fall season, adding a pop of color with this coat would be a great option. This bright hued wool coat will catch everyone’s eye. It’s double breasted and has an over-sized lapel. It is $1,145 from Net-A-Porter.
