Santa Wants the Kids To Smell Good

My kids are growing up. This year, Santa skipped the toys and brought them gifts of fragrance.
First, because it’s a family tradition, he brought my girls a gift of Love’s Baby Soft. A “soft, powdery floral, with wood and animal scents,” is the only description I was able to find online. Animal scents? Does that mean musk? I can smell musk in there.
Love’s Baby Soft was my first favorite scent. I remember wearing it in Junior and then Senior High school, before I moved on to more grown-up scents like Chantilly, Anais Anais, and Gloria Vanderbilt. We used to do this layered thing with the Anais Anais and the Gloria Vanderbilt that smelled surprisingly good. Or at least it did to a group of 17-year-old girls.
Sarah is sitting beside me right now and she’s got the Love’s Baby Soft body spray on. She’s telling me something about the movie “Mamma Mia,” another of our presents, and as she waves her arms the scent sort of wafts over to me. She smells very girly. I love my Sarah.
My son received Every Man Jack skin care products. I love the cedarwood body bar - smells so good. Every Man Jack is a vegetable based soap with no tallow.
Bailey, my oldest hasn’t been home long enough for me to smell her – she is always with her boyfriend – but when she gets home, I’m going to give her a long hug and a big sniff. I love it when the kids are clean – reminds me of when they were babies fresh from the bath.
