Scented Wallpaper: home fragrance gone too far? or not far enough?

flavorpaper.jpg It seems very appropriate that Flavor Paper would make something as crazy as…scented wallpaper. I know, it’s all very Willy Wonka (the snozzberries smell like snozzberries!) but apparently, it’s for real. And I totally want some. I know R. would choose banana in a heartbeat, but I’m partial to cherries.   In any case, they’re still fun to look at.  I wonder if this is an abortive trend (Smell-o-vision?) or just the first of many.  I have several closets just begging for a spot of style, and this definitely qualifies.

The Fruit Cocktail Collection began when Michael Angelo asked if we could actually make scratch & sniff wallpaper. The result is a fantastic trio of hand screened fruit wallpaper designed by Michael and Flavor Paper. And, when scratched, B-A-N-A-N-A-S! smells like bananas, Cherry Forever like cherries, and Tutti Frutti like…tutti frutti! Visual AND olfactory satisfaction from your walls. Pure genius.

We launched the collection at the Smell My Wallaper Party at Wonderland during NY Design Week 2007 and had so much interest we had to sneak some on to the column next to our booth at ICFF for thousands of wallpaper sniffing fans.

Best of all, a percentage of sales goes to the Human Rights Campaign to help achieve human equality.
