Sephora’s Classics, part one

Poking around Sephora, I found that they had posted a great list of ‘classic’ fragrances. Some of these are bona-fide, vintage classics, and others are more modern creations with a classical aesthetic, but you can’t go wrong with Shalimar, Fracas,  or Amarige!

ShalimarGuerlain Shalimar, $50 – $62

A tempting blend of bergamot, lemon, rose, and vanilla, this timeless fragrance is one of the most popular oriental scents – ever. Inspired by love, it’s a tender embrace of warm hues that send off both come-hither and comforting signals.

OpiumYves Saint Laurent Opium, $49 – $91

Let your exotic side shine through with this enchanting concoction of tangerine, plum, cloves, and coriander. Famed for its magically mysterious aroma, this scent will undoubtedly leave others inexplicably wanting more.

FracasRobert Piguet Fracas, $25 – $95

Jasmine – longtime regarded as an aphrodisiac – headlines this sensual scent. Inklings of tuberose, jonquil, gardenia, and lily of the valley can also be detected in the floral fragrance, which is sleekly outfitted in a signature black bottle.

Amarige Givenchy Amarige , $45 – $80

A union of neroli, rosewood, violet leaves, and gardenia, Amarige is a scent that brings to mind those love-at-first-sight butterflies. Inspired by Hubert de Givenchy’s first muse, the fragrance boasts French nostalgia while still smelling au courant.

L'Eau d'IsseyIssey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey, $40 – $64

Only the innovative Issey Miyake could transform florals into a fragrance that’s water-fresh. Lotus, freesia, cyclamen, carnations, and white lilies create a seemingly complicated bouquet that – in actuality – is simply cool, crisp, and clean.

CLASSIQUE Eau de ParfumJean Paul Gaultier CLASSIQUE Eau de Parfum, $42 – $90

Rum essence and bourbon vanilla are two of the main ingredients for this intoxicating scent. Shots of rose essence, orchid, and amber are also responsible for making others fall hopelessly under your influence.

Pour FemmeBvlgari Pour Femme, $50 – $125

A jewel of a scent, Bvlgari Pour Femme sparkles brilliantly with jasmine, rose, bergamot, and citrus in a faintly frosted bottle. Spray the floral fragrance on your skin to let your multifaceted charm and beauty shine through.

Acqua Di GioGiorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio, $39.50 – $65

Tropical flowers like jasmine, freesia, and white hyacinth, and the alluring aroma of sea spray make this fresh fragrance a casual and free-spirited escape to the life aquatic. Dive right in.

Brit Eau de ParfumBurberry Brit Eau de Parfum, $34 – $82

If a mix of Italian lime, icy pear, amber, and vanilla sounds bloody good, then you’ll go mad for this plaid bottle that’s filled with a blimey blend of lush fruits and nutty essences. It’s impulsive, playful, and decidedly British.
