When I think about fall accessories, I think about deep colors, rich textures and of course, the inevitable need for warmer footwear
Boots are a great way to transition into fall style, and this year the designers have come up with some gorgeous ones.
Over-the-knee boots are a big trend, with lots of different options available. Just remember, keep the rest of your outfit understated and elegant – you don’t want to go overboard with this one!

These OTK boots are from Christian Louboutin and feature a button-up detail.
Suede boots are such a great look for fall – and these scrunch boots from Michael Kors are a fun way to wear it.

Scrunch boots give you the option of lots of different looks with one pair of boots. You can pull them up and wear them as a tall boot, or scrunch them down into a calf-height boot.
The classic equestrian boot is an easy-wear option, with a lower heel for all-day comfort, whether in the office or out on the town.

Prada’s brown Moro leather riding boot has a timeless style that will last for many years.
And yes, there are boots for those of you who prefer a shorter ankle boot too!

I am drooling over these lovely studded kid leather ankle boots from Miu Miu
They feature a covered platform heel and layers of small metal studs.

I love the equestrian boot. Now I want a pair – they’d look great with skinny jeans, and I’d like to see how they’d look with summery skirts during the fall.
Fringed cowboy boots are another great option, since folk-inspired boho will be huge for A/W 09
